Two new paintings

Roark Bluff, at Steel Creek, Ponca, AR,
#148_22-10-22|  36x24”  |  Oil on gallery wrap canvas

Roark Bluff is an iconic bluffline along the Buffalo National River near Ponca, AR. At 3/4 mile long and over 200 feet tall, this sheer slab of streaked sandstone towers over the river. From Steel Creek Campground it's a short walk to the river to take in the sights or swim in the Rushing Hole at the base of the bluff. - NPS.gov

Boston Mountain Overlook, Flippin, AR
#149_ 22-11-8 | 24x18” |  Oil on canvas - framed

Much of the Boston Mountains are part of the Ozark National Forest. This rugged topography is sparsely populated. Slopes remain forested and are used for timber on a limited basis. Small pastures can be found on the mountain crests and valley bottoms. - Margaret J. Guccione, encyclopediaofarkansas.net  Exact location: Flippin, AR at Hwy 62/412 & Hwy 178

Here’s a peek at two of my newest paintings available for sale online at www.KatheAltazan.com.

One of these, Boston Mountain Overlook, will be available for viewing at the Donald W. Reynolds Baxter County Library from January to April 2023 as part of its Visiting Art on Display ongoing exhibition. Stop in if you have a chance.

I hope you enjoy viewing some of these larger paintings referenced by previous hikes, water hikes, and adventures in these great Arkansas Ozarks.
